Alex & Tommy's Berry-Hued Wedding in Walthamstow Wetlands
Designing the florals for this unique wedding at Walthamstow Wetlands was a dream come true. Alex and Tommy, both incredibly creative, shared a passion for bold colors and a love for wild, organic textures and floral varieties – all things that I absolutely love. Their floral palette drew inspiration from Alex’s navy blue dress, twilight skies, and the untamed beauty of the nature reserve. Vibrant cerise and magenta hues combined with navy, lilac, and peach tones, creating a jewel-toned palette that struck the perfect balance between bold and vampy.
The bridal flowers featured Alex’s favorite blooms: the majestic King Protea, complemented by vibrant, locally-grown Dahlias from Dorset, the last of the season’s clematis, roses, thistles, snapdragons, delphiniums, and delicate, dancing fillers. Tommy and the gentlemen sported matching buttonholes adorned with peach spray roses and foliage, tying in with the overall wedding party.
During the ceremony, a pair of statement-footed vases graced the altar in the tiled Turbine Room, bathed in sunlight that bounced off the walls and original features. As the day turned to night, dinner was served amidst a display of floral-filled glass bottles stretching along the banquet-style tables accompanied by elegant cylindrical glass lanterns, with warm candlelight casting a romantic glow.
The overall vibe of the wedding was unique, colorful, and creative, embodying a sense of relaxation and romance. It was a true collaboration of inspiration and ideas with the lovely Alex and Tommy, who were an absolute pleasure to work with.
